Frequently asked questions
When does the card start — from midnight or when I first use it?
It starts from the moment you first use it, whether that's tapping through a metro barrier or entering a museum. Your 72, 96 or 120 hours run from that point.
Is the airport train really included?
Yes. The airport train and airport metro connections are covered by the card, so you can travel from the airport into the city centre without buying a separate ticket.
Do I need to print the ticket, or is my phone enough?
A mobile ticket on your phone is accepted. If you prefer a paper copy, you can print your voucher — but it is not required.
Which museums offer skip-the-line access and which are discounted only?
The Picasso Museum is confirmed for skip-the-line entry; Casa Milà (La Pedrera) offers a discount rather than free entry. The full list of free and discounted venues is published at the official Barcelona Card partner page — check it before you visit to plan your days.
Can my child use the card independently?
Children must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times. Children under 4 are admitted free and do not need their own card.
Are night buses covered?
No. Night buses are not included in the Barcelona Card. All other TMB metro and bus services during standard hours are covered.
