About this experience
The 21-hectare Christchurch Botanic Gardens was founded in 1863 with the planting of an English oak tree. Today, it features 10 gardens, such as The Heritage Rose Garden, The Herb Garden, and The Water Garden, to name a few. Hop aboard the all-weather electric shuttle to explore the gardens and see an impressive array of plant collections from Asia, Europe, and South America, among others. Meanwhile, visit its conservatories namely, the Garrick House, Cuningham House, and Townend House.

Where exactly does the shuttle depart from?
There are two boarding points: the Canterbury Museum entrance on Rolleston Ave, and outside the new Botanic Gardens Visitors Centre. You can join at either stop.
What are the shuttle departure times?
From the Canterbury Museum entrance: 11:00, 12:00, 13:30, 14:30, and 15:30 daily, plus 10:00 from November to March. From the Visitors Centre: 11:30, 14:00, and 15:00 daily, plus 10:30 from November to March. Times may change without notice, so check the gardens' official website before you visit.
Do my children need a ticket?
Children aged four and under enter free of charge. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult at all times.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No — a mobile ticket is perfectly fine. Simply have it ready on your phone when you board.
What happens if the weather is bad?
The shuttle is all-weather, so light rain is not a problem. In cases of extreme weather conditions, the activity may be cancelled for safety reasons.
How many people fit on each shuttle?
