Frequently asked questions
Do I need to print my Eurail pass?
No. The pass is entirely digital. You activate and display it through the Rail Planner app on your smartphone — no printed document is required.
Can I cancel or get a refund after activating the pass?
Once the pass has been activated in the Rail Planner app, cancellations and refunds are not available. If you have not yet activated it, please contact us to discuss your options.
Do I need to make seat reservations, and are they included?
Seat reservations are mandatory on most high-speed trains (such as the Eurostar, TGV, and AVE) and many overnight services. These reservations are not included in the pass price and must be booked and paid for separately before travel.
Who is eligible to use this pass?
The Eurail Global Pass is exclusively available to non-European residents. If you hold a European passport or are a resident of one of the 33 participating countries, you are not eligible to purchase this pass.
How do non-consecutive travel days work?
Each morning you decide whether to use one of your travel days. On days you activate, you can take as many trains as you like within that calendar day. On other days, you simply don't activate a travel day and it remains available for later in your trip.
Can my children travel with me on the same pass?
Children under 4 travel free at all times. Each paying adult can bring up to two children aged 4–11 for free. If you are travelling with more than two children in that age range, additional passes must be purchased for the extra children.
