Frequently asked questions
When does the Porto Card start — when I collect it or when I first use it?
The card is valid for 24, 48, 72 or 96 consecutive hours from the moment you first activate or use it, not from collection. You can pick it up on arrival and start it when it suits you.
Do I need to print my voucher?
No. Show your smartphone voucher at the tourist office to exchange it for the physical Porto Card — no printout needed.
Which museums and attractions are included?
The full, up-to-date list of included venues and partner discounts is published at visitporto.travel/en-GB/porto-card. We recommend checking it before your visit as the list can change.
Are most museums open every day?
Most museums and monuments in Porto are closed on Mondays and public holidays, so factor this in when choosing your card duration.
Do children need a Porto Card?
Children under 5 do not need a Porto Card and can enter free without one.
What if I arrive on Christmas Day or New Year's Day?
The tourist offices are closed on 25 December. On 24 December and 1 January they operate with reduced hours, so plan to collect your card earlier in the day if travelling around those dates.
