Where exactly can I pick up or exchange the pass?
Only at three locations: New Chitose Airport Station, Sapporo Station, and Asahikawa Station. The pass cannot be collected elsewhere.
Do I need to print my ticket or is a mobile voucher accepted?
Bring your booking confirmation (digital is fine) along with your original passport. The passport is mandatory for redemption — a photocopy will not be accepted.
Can I board any seat on the train, or do I need to reserve in advance?
The pass covers unreserved travel, but you can collect a free reserved seat ticket at a station window or ticket vending machine before boarding. Seat availability is not guaranteed, especially on busy routes, so collect your reserved ticket as early as possible.
Does the pass cover the Sapporo subway or city trams?
No. The pass is valid only on JR Hokkaido trains within the coverage area. Sapporo's subway, streetcar, and JR Hokkaido Bus services are all excluded.
My child is 5 — do I need to buy them a ticket?
Children under 6 travel free, with up to two free children permitted per paying adult. They are not entitled to a reserved seat under the free allowance. A ticket is required for any additional children beyond two per adult.
I am travelling in a group — whose name needs to be on the booking?
The representative's name entered during booking must exactly match the name on the passport presented at redemption. If the names do not match, the pass cannot be issued.
