Each morning you wish to travel, log in and activate that day before boarding. Carry your activated pass (print-at-home A4 or mobile e-ticket) and your passport; show both to the conductor or ticket inspector on request.

Do my travel days have to be on consecutive dates?
No — that's the key advantage of the Flex pass. You can use your days on any dates within the one-month validity period, in any order, with gaps between them if you wish.
How do I activate a travel day?
Go to activateyourpass.com, log in with the reference number from your purchase receipt, and activate the day before you board. You must do this for each individual day of travel.
Is the receipt I receive after booking my actual travel document?
No. The receipt contains your reference number but is not valid for travel. You must complete activation on activateyourpass.com before boarding any Swiss public transport.
Do I need to book seats on the scenic trains separately?
Your pass covers the fare on all five included scenic trains, but seat reservations on routes such as the Glacier Express and Bernina Express are typically compulsory and carry a separate reservation fee. We recommend booking these in advance, especially in peak season.
Can I use this pass if I live in Switzerland?
No. The Swiss Travel Pass Flex is exclusively available to non-residents of Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein.
What class should I choose — first or second?
Second class is comfortable and used by the majority of travellers; first class offers wider seats, quieter carriages and guaranteed space. Both classes give access to the same routes and inclusions. Make sure you sit in the carriage that matches your ticket class.
